What's a blog, about knitting blogs, and links to favorite knitting blogs
For the uninitiated, the word "blog" is a shortened form of the word "weblog", an online diary in the "early days", but now you can find blogs in any form, with any subject matter. A blog is simply an easy way to put your content online, with no technical knowledge necessary.
Some of my favorite blogs are knitting blogs, no surprise there. With the help of a digital camera, a knitter can post pictures of his/her knitting projects, at every stage from beginning to end. S/he can post pictures of the dog wearing something fabulous, or the exact instructions for that last scarf.
A blog can be about knitting in general, lace knitting, aran knitting, hats, socks, sweaters, knitting workshops and classes, knitting for charity, knitting for babies, knitting for pets...anything! Oh bliss!
Readers can leave comments and links to their own blogs, webpages, or knitting resources. Quite lively discussions can start up over the most innocuous subjects. Over time, a community can form around a common "thread"...or yarn...or knitting book...
There are so many blogs, so little time...I am going to keep an ongoing list on this page here of my favorites and PLEASE feel free to leave a comment with the url of YOUR favorites, I'll add them to the list to make them easy for all to find.
Thanks for participating, and reading. Let the games begin!
